LANDSIDE

No Views of the main ramp. From the side of the terminal an Air Force An26 could be seen.

 

AIRSIDE

Views of the runway and the immediate stands in front of you. The hangers and GA area which contains quite a few aircraft are not visible. A right hand seat for arrival and Left for departure are your best chance of getting these. There are also several aircraft parked on the other side of the runway.

 

HOTELS

If your staying in the city then Hotel Tamboho was very good and located in a more upmarket part of town. A supermarket and shops are located across the road.

 

If your going to Andisabe park then Vakona Forest Lodge was excellent.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Most of the Air Madagascar fleet should be around early morning.

 

Occasional flights from neighbouring countries.

 

Plenty of GA aircraft if you can get them on arrival or take off.

 

You won’t want to spend anytime here except for arriving and leaving. Watching Lemurs in Andisabe park is probably the main reason to visit.
