GLOBAL SPOTTING REPORTS
COSTA RICA
San Jose – Feb 2017
LANDSIDE
Nothing from the International Terminal. The domestic terminal looked like it would have some views of this ramp but not the main ramp or runway.
The road on the opposite side of the airport does allow some limited views of the hangars and ramps. There was a raised footpath at the eastern end alongside the road which would be a good spot for photography, but I couldn't see a spot to park up.
AIRSIDE
No problems seeing the runway and stands but other ramps are out of view.
HOTELS
Didn’t notice any with views. The nearby town of Alajuela has a good selection.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Not particularly busy. Avianca have a few flights and the local carrier operates Cessna Caravans. Regular flights from US carriers.
There is a maintenance area which had several aircraft parked up and the Air Force / Police had a couple of aircraft present. A left seat for arrival and right for departure is your best chance to see these ramps. Currently parked up along with a few others that couldn't be read.
