GLOBAL SPOTTING REPORTS
KAZAKHSTAN
Almaty – July 2019
LANDSIDE
Both the domestic and international check in area have some window views. A few gates can be seen and most aircraft can be eyeballed as they taxi in and out. Reports suggest that using binoculars in these areas was fine but I didn’t take the risk. Saying that there is an Almaty photographers group who post photos from locations on the perimeter so maybe worth getting in touch with them.
The café downstairs in arrivals had comfy seats and decent food which was much appreciated in times of no movements. Wifi worked well in the airport to know what was due in and out.
AIRSIDE
Ok views with some remote stands and possibly some of the stored and military aircraft readable. It was dark when I went through so couldn’t see much.
HOTELS
WHAT TO EXPECT
A good chunk of the Air Astana fleet can be seen during the rush hours. Four E190s seen with the other 5 at Astana. Bek Air F100s had a few flights along with a couple of Qazaq DHC8s. Not greatly busy.
A number of stored aircraft remain parked up along with the military Casa’s. A right seat for arrival or left for departure would be your best chance of seeing them.

Astana – July 2019
LANDSIDE
No views seen but didn’t really explore that much.
AIRSIDE
Domestic Terminal had excellent views. Some remote stands could be seen and all movements pass by.
HOTELS
WHAT TO EXPECT

Kazakhstan Government planes are based but none seen and easily hidden inside the hangers if at home. Kazakhstan Border Guards SSJ was present.
