GLOBAL SPOTTING REPORTS
BANGLADESH
Dhaka – Nov 2011
LANDSIDE
No views from the terminal. Local spotters do have photo’s of aircraft on approach but wouldn’t recommend you try it without the help of the locals.
AIRSIDE
Airside – Good views of the apron. If you walk to the end of the terminal to the right side you can see some of the stored aircraft next to the Biman hanger. However you will need a right hand seat on departure to get a better view. If you go upstairs where the lounges are and walk the other way you can just see GMG’s hanger where they currently have a couple of Dash 8’s parked. SU-ACT and ADX. Again you need a right hand seat on arrival to see these. They don’t have any regs.
HOTELS
Dhaka Regency Hotel and resort.
Rooftop pool allows distant views of airport and either arrivals or departures. Some rooms may have views?
WHAT TO EXPECT
Not very busy. Biman dominates with other local carriers making up the numbers. Very little internationally except for the odd flight from India and a Druk Air from Bhutan. Worthwile to see the stored aircraft, possibly best done on a transit flight.
