ARGENTINA

Buenos Aires Ezeiza – Feb 2019

LANDSIDE

No views from the terminals except for maybe a couple of remote stands. Turn right out of the terminal and stick to the perimeter. About a 20 minute walk away are Aerolineas Argentinas hangers. They park Biz down here as well. You could take a taxi or rent a car. It seems ok to park up on the hard shoulder there.  Along the way you will pass one of the runway thresholds and from here you can see back towards the terminal and several stands.

AIRSIDE

Good window views. Remote stands are difficult to read at night but it was possible.

HOTELS

None here, there are some guesthouses in the nearby local village and if you know where you are going its possible to walk. Continue past the hangers described above and the village will be on your right.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Buenos Aires international airport, Not amazingly busy and with the lack of viewing areas its probably best to get what you can on arrival and departure. Aerolineas Argentinas base there long haul fleet as well as a number of B737’s and E190s  used on flights to regional countries and a few domestic flights. Expect daily flights from other South American countries as well as the States and Europe.

There are two rush hours early morning and late evening. Check timetables. The E190s and B737s do rotate between here and Aeroparque.

Buenos Aires Aeroparque – Feb 2019

Not sure if there are still views from the terminal area. I didn’t look this time.

The perimeter is a much better idea and no problems have been encountered here. Just hope the whether is ok. Turn right out of the terminal and you will eventually get views. Its possible to walk all the way down towards the threshold allowing for views of the hangers on the other side. A car park, possibly long stay and trees do obscure views. On the other side of the car park is a gate allowing for good views of aircraft parked on stand. Many can be read of at night as well.  If they are landing from this direction you can get really nice photo’s. Along the main road there are some food trucks where you can sit and watch the movements. If arriving from the other end theres also views and foodtrucks on this end as well.

AIRSIDE

Good views with views across to the hangers.

HOTELS

The Aeroparque Inn and Suites is the only hotel in the vicinity and less than 10 mins walk from the runway threshold. I didn’t have a view but it wasn’t necessary given the views available on the perimeter. Some rooms on the top floor reportedly have views although I can’t see why you would want to spend your time here. Theres not much in the way of food outlets around but the city centre is only a 10 minute taxi ride away and worth a visit.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Most domestic traffic goes from here so expect lots of Aerolineas Argentinas, Austral and LAN flights. Norwegian and Avianca are also based.

Departures start as early as 430am with some aircraft not returning again till late evening or changing over to Ezeiza. By around 10am you will have seen most stuff with only a handful of new aircraft for the rest of the day. The late arrivals will bring a few more as aircraft rotate between the two airports.
